After a degree in physics Catherine studied painting and sculpture at The Art Academy, London Bridge, and began teaching courses in both, and in drawing, from 2008. She founded the life drawing group Drawing the Star in 2015, aiming to create an environment where everybody can find their own way of drawing more from life. When not drawing from life with the group she is painting a series of skies from her home-studio in Margate - where Turner said he saw "the loveliest skies in all of Europe".
